Have you received a Bobcat S185 Trouble Code or Error Code? Here is a list of all the bobcat S185 error codes made by Bobcat. Codes 1-15 represent a sensor on your machine, and codes 16-99 are engine or drivetrain codes. Find the source of the problem by matching your trouble code/error code to one in this article.
1-6 1618 Fuel pump low pressure
Turn the ignition key to OFF before proceeding.
Connect a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel system test port. The engine must be OFF for an accurate pressure reading.
Start the engine and let it idle for three minutes. Record the fuel pressure reading. If the fuel pressure is not within specification, follow the appropriate procedure below to diagnose the problem:
If the engine will not start or run, refer to Engine cranks but does not start in Engine Performance Diagnosis for diagnosis procedures.
If the engine will start and run, refer to Driveability Symptoms Chart in Driveability Diagnosis for diagnosis procedures.
1-7 1619 Engine coolant temperature sensor high input
Iespējamie cēloņi
Engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor harness or connectors is open or shorted
ECT sensor circuit poor electrical connection
Faulty ECT sensor
Faulty engine control module (ECM)
1-8 1620 Engine coolant temperature sensor low input
1-8 1620 Engine coolant temperature sensor low input.
The engine coolant temperature sensor signal is below the reference value.
1) Open or short in harness or connector between PCM and engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor (ECT signal circuit).
2) ECT sensor open circuit, short to ground, or short to power.
3) PCM failure.
2-4 3572 Engine coolant level switch – short to ground
The engine coolant level switch is located in the reserve tank and is equipped with an internal contact. The ECM monitors this contact and sends a signal to the instrument cluster to turn on the low coolant indicator. A short to ground in the engine coolant level switch causes this DTC to set.
2-5 3573 Engine coolant level switch – short to voltage
Troubleshooting guide for failure code 2-5, engine coolant level switch – short to voltage.
This failure code is indicated by the “CHECK ENGINE” indicator lamp. The Engine Control Module (ECM) will illuminate the “CHECK ENGINE” indicator lamp immediately upon detection of this failure. If this fault is not repaired, the ECM may take further action, depending on operating conditions.
3-2 5067 Main relief valve solenoid open/short to voltage
The main relief valve solenoid circuit is monitored by the transmission control module (TCM) for a short to voltage. The test fails when the main relief valve solenoid is commanded to ON, and the TCM detects a voltage greater than 4.5 volts on the main relief valve solenoid control circuit for approximately 1 second or more.
Conditions for Running the DTC
The ignition switch is in RUN or START.
The ECT sensor input varies less than approximately 6 C/11 F (or 3 C/6 F) from stored values.
The engine speed is more than 550 RPM.
DTC iestatīšanas nosacījumi
The TCM detects a voltage greater than 4.5 volts on the main relief valve solenoid control circuit for approximately 1 second or more while commanding the main relief valve solenoid ON.
Darbības, kas veiktas, kad DTC tiek iestatīts
The TCM illuminates the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) when the diagnostic runs and fails.
3-3 5068 Main relief valve solenoid short to ground
The 3-3 5068 Main relief valve solenoid short to ground is an error code that will only show up in the Extreme Series hydraulic systems. The main relief valve solenoid is a variable orifice which controls how much hydraulic pressure is allowed to pass through it. When there is no power to the solenoid, it defaults to a fully open position. Sometimes referred to as a the “pressure relief” valve or “main relief” valve, this valve acts as a safety device, by limiting the amount of pressure that can be applied in the system.
3-4 5069 Lift relief valve solenoid open/short to voltage
Make sure the lift relief valve is not plugged up. If a new valve did not correct the problem, then you will have to check the solenoid and make sure it is working properly.
You will need to check the voltage going to the lift relief valve solenoid, which should be battery voltage. If there is no power going to the solenoid, check the wiring and fuses.
If there is power going to the lift relief valve solenoid, test the continuity of the coil on the solenoid. You should have zero ohms of resistance on a good coil. If you don’t have any resistance, replace the lift relief valve coil.
5-4 7074 Engine speed sensor signal is too low or absent
Test system operation by performing a quick check.
If any malfunction indicators are on, inspect the system that is indicated. Refer to the appropriate service manual for diagnosis and repair of the system.
Check engine speed sensor harness connectors for loose, broken, or damaged terminals.
Check for loose or missing engine speed sensor mounting bolts.
Check for proper ground at the engine speed sensor harness connector. The circuit should have less than 1 ohm of resistance to ground. If greater than 1 ohm of resistance to ground is found, repair as necessary. If all circuits check OK, replace the ECM/PCM.
