The JCB JS160 Loader Excavator has been recently crowned by the British Manufacturer’s Association (DfT) as being “The World’s Most Powerful 160-HP Excavator.” This recognition is a testament to its outstanding performance while loading, positioning and maneuvering earth-moving equipment.

The latest stage 3B/Tier4i compliant JCB engine provides plenty of power and torque for performing a huge variety of tasks. Designed with efficiency in mind, the JS160 offers impressive fuel economy, as well as best-in-class serviceability and maintenance access.

The machine’s standard boom and dipper configuration delivers an ECmax digging reach of 7.14m and a maximum digging depth of 4.93m. This makes the JS160 ideal for many applications including landscaping, general construction and groundworks, plant hire operations and utilities work.

The JS160has a spacious cab featuring ergonomically positioned controls to keep you comfortable throughout your working day. A host of standard features deliver greater levels of safety and convenience on site, including an automatic reversing fan, auto-idle feature, hydraulic safety lock valves and hydraulic line break valves to prevent uncontrolled movements if a hose fails.

The Superseries engines are highly efficient, offering low fuel consumption and reduced exhaust emissions. The Caterpillar C6.6 engine delivers 160kW (214 hp), while the Cummins QSB 6.7 power unit delivers 166kW (224 hp).

The new ZX250LC-6 has many features to boost productivity and reduce operating costs. The Auto Idle system automatically reduces the engine speed to idle when the machine is not in use for a preset period of time, reducing noise and fuel consumption.

The standard Auto Downshift system optimises cycle times by automatically reducing engine speed when the machine is travelling downhill or on level ground with no load on the boom. This allows for higher maximum travel speed and better acceleration out of corners, increasing productivity.

This year sees the introduction of new undercarriage technology for this model – a variable track gauge.

The JS160T variant, which retains all the features of the standard model, offers an additional 0.9m width when required – ideal for working on soft ground conditions or on steep slopes where extra stability is required by law.

The JS160T can be operated at 2.5m width and can be extended when needed to 3.4m in a matter of minutes – simply by removing two bolts and adjusting the track frame position.

The undercarriage has been designed specifically to suit this new model and utilises components that are already used on other models in our range so any operator familiar with JCB equipment will find it very straightforward to operate and maintain.

At only 7 in. front to back this compact drill is powerful enough for most heavy-duty drilling and driving applications, yet fits into tight spaces with ease. The AUTOSENSE technology automatically adjusts the motor’s torque output when required by the application. Its dual bit system delivers optimal control so you can choose between standard mode for everyday applications or hammer mode for drilling into masonry or concrete. This drill driver features an integrated LED light ring surrounding the chuck that provides consistent, shadow-free illumination of your work area and is bright enough to double as a flashlight when needed.
