problemas con la excavadora cat 305e2

There are a lot of problems with cat 305e2 backhoe loaders. This post highlights several common problems and fixes that apply to all of them.

Cat 305e2 Excavator Problem 1: Engine and Hydraulic Systems

I have a Cat 305E2 CR excavator with a problem of the engine and hydraulic systems. The symptoms are as follows:

At low idle, the engine control system seems to be in limp mode and runs at 1200 RPM. The machine will not move under its own power. If I increase the engine speed to around 1800 RPM, it runs fine, but the hydraulics are cutting out and starving for oil pressure causing the machine to stop again.

It appears that there is no oil pressure (0 psi) at low idle. At higher engine rpm, the pressure rises to around 10-20 psi and then drops again before steadying at around 20 psi.

The machine has been serviced regularly and had a new transfer pump fitted recently. All filters were changed as well.

Cat 305e2 Excavator Problem 2: Hydraulic System: pump, oil tank and cooler

The pump gear is worn down and a metal shavings are coming from the gear itself, the gear is engaged to a motor that drives the pump. So all I have to do is get the gear replaced, but I don’t know where I can find it.

I own a Cat 305e2 Excavator and the boom won’t move up and down. Right now, I’m looking at the hydraulic system: pump, oil tank and cooler. The hydraulic oil level is fine, there’s no leak in sight and everything looks good, but I can’t find a problem.

I looked at the hydraulic pressure gauge and it’s reading 0 bar when the engine is on. There’s also no clicking sound when I press the switch to operate the boom up or down.

I took off the pump gear cover to see if there was anything wrong with it, but it looks fine. The only thing I found was metal shavings on a magnet that’s attached to the cover.

The oil doesn’t look like it has any water inside of it either.

Cat 305e2 Excavator Problem 3: Powertrain, axles and final drive

The Cat 305E2 Mini Hydraulic Excavator delivers high performance and versatile working abilities in a compact design to help you work in a variety of applications. With its reduced-tail-swing configuration, long arm option and backfill blade, the Cat 305E2 is an excellent choice for many different job site applications. The optional adjustable undercarriage provides the versatility to work on a wide range of ground conditions to achieve maximum production.

Cat 305e2 Excavator Problem 4: Fuel System and Electrical System

I’m new to operating an excavator, but I’ve been having issues with my excavator lately. There have been two problems that I have had and I’m close to just giving up on this machine.

My first issue is that the fuel pump is not pumping any fuel into the engine. This started happening after I ran out of diesel and I was waiting for my boss to come with more fuel for it. The machine then sat for about a hour before he brought it. When we added fuel back into the machine, the engine would not start and had no pressure in the system at all. We thought maybe the fuel filter was bad so we replaced it but still nothing. I did some research and found out that there are two pumps in the system one lifts the fuel from the tank and another pumps it into the engine, now this is where things get weird. When i turn on the key switch and turn over the engine with a jumper wire, i hear a hum coming from behind me where the main pump is located (i believe). If i remove the main pump and hook up a jumper wire to it, i get a constant humming sound from it but still no pressure in my system or fuel coming out of either port of my filter head.

I have changed :

– fuel filter (new)

– fuel pump (new)

– check valve on the tank (new)

– fuel injector control pressure sensor (new)

– fuel injector control pressure regulator (new)

– high pressure fuel pump (new)

– secondary fuel filter (new)

I checked the wires, they are ok! I don’t know what else to do!

Cat 305e2 Excavator Problem and solutions

The Cat 305E2 excavator is a versatile, compact machine suitable for both construction and demolition. The Cat 305E2 has become the owner’s favorite since its introduction in 2004. The E stands for efficiency because this model can work with a maximum of 6,613 pounds and the minimum flow required for working hydraulics is 11 gallons per minute. The E2 also has the smallest footprint in its class. But like any other excavator, troubleshooting problems with the Cat 305E2 can be difficult if you do not know what to look for.

Paso 1

Check the hydraulic oil level in the sight gauge on the left side of the machine. If it is at a low level, check for leaks or change it if necessary.

Paso 2

Check that all of your hydraulic controls are set to neutral when idle. This prevents accidental movements of the boom or stick while you are not actually using them. When you are ready to work, use the toggle switch to move your control levers from neutral to their active position, or they will not function correctly.

Paso 3

Look at your fuel filter and indicator light to make sure that it is clean and unclogged.
