cat 307.5 vs 308 excavator Hydraulics

I’m thinking about buying a used mini excavator for our business and I am stuck between the 307.5 and 308. I have been told that with the same amount of horsepower, the 308 will out perform the 307 because it has a bigger hydraulic pump.

chose cat 307.5 or 308 excavator

The 307.5 is a small machine and the 308 is a medium sized machine. I would like to know what your intentions are for the machine and how you will use it.

If you intend to do landscaping work, I would suggest the 308 because it has a longer stick that will help with digging and better overall leverage. You can always rent or buy a thumb for it as well if you need one.

If you are just using the machine on your property or using it as an all-around utility machine then the 307.5 should be fine. It has a lot of power for its size and is very maneuverable. The hydraulic system on the ‘E’ models is amazing and makes up for any lack of size in my opinion.
